The Novation UltraNova has three oscillators, two ring modulators and a noise generator. The oscillators each have 14 analog waveforms, 20 digital waveforms and 36 wavetables with nine waveforms each. Oscillators can quickly be fattened with the Density control. Density stacks multiple copies of the same oscillator without sacrificing polyphony. Those can be further detuned to add more thickness to the sound. This is ideal for creating the popular supersaw-type waveforms while only using a single oscillator....

This week, the editors over at Apple chose the PAC-MAN Friends app as the Free app of the week for the iPhone, iPod and iPad. The free app has tilt control, retina support and 95 levels of play. Despite being the free app of the week, dozens of reviews I browsed through complain of in-app purchases as well as ads in between levels. Sounded a bit sketch to me so I skipped on downloading it for my devices....

The first Samsung Galaxy Note has been quite successful – over 5 million units had been sold since late spring, contradicting those saying that it was difficult to operate with one hand. She had read a blog post about turning one of these into a video baby monitor, and that’s what we did. We ended up using it a ton.
