These types of phones would include the lower end and affordable Lumia 521/520 or Lumia 635 as examples. I have owned both phones which started with the 520 on AT&T’s no contract GoPhone program, then upgraded last year to the Lumia 635 on the same carrier. Now, there hasn’t been any reports about which specific models will support Windows 10 preview, but Gabe Aul, Microsoft Engineering General Manager, gave us more hope today in a Twitter post you can read below.
— Gabriel Aul (@GabeAul) February 5, 2015 It would definitely make sense for Microsoft to include the budget phones with 512MB of RAM since the rollout of the first version of Windows Phone 10 is expected this month, and these phones are Microsoft’s best selling devices. Remember that if you want to test out the new Windows 10 for Windows Phone, you will need to be running Windows Phone 8.1 and need to download and enable the Preview for Developers app as well as the Windows insider app for when the first build is ready.
The Windows 10 Technical Preview is going quite well so far, and you can see what’s new in the latest build by checking out our Windows 10 Tech Preview Visual Tour. Are you excited to start trying out Windows 10 on Windows phone? Leave us a comment and tell us your thoughts! Yes, Depending on the user feedback they will decide whether to support 512 or not.
